Why the Fuss Over Replacing Soldiers with Mopol?

So, why are some people upset about the withdrawal of the army and their replacement with Mobile Police (Mopol)?

I came across a comment that said, “Wetin police sabi?”  and I couldn't help but laugh.

Clearly, some people don’t know that the  mobile police units aren’t your regular patrol officers. They are elite forces, specially trained to combat terrorism and handle high-risk situations.

especially those ones with the red beret. They’re not just tough; they’re highly disciplined, battle-ready, and in many cases, more dangerous than the regular army.

But that’s by the way.

If the presence of the army hasn’t brought the desired results, what’s the point of keeping them there?

If replacing them with Mobile Police will help restore peace and order, then by all means  let the switch happen!
